Although I have a background full of studies so far (well I'm still 24 year old), I have had the opportunity to gain some professional experience on different subjects during the past years.

I am currently employed at Bitsec AB, a swedish consulting and research company within the field of information and IT security. I work with our customers on projects involving both technical (penetration testing, current situation assessment, ...) and administrative (ISO 27001, PCI, risk analysis, disaster recovery planning) security analysis.

I worked one year at Infoflex Connect AB, a swedish company based in Stockholm, Sweden. I developed web applications with Java using well-known frameworks and technologies such as the Spring Framework, Hibernate, etc. as well as Windows applications in the .NET environment with C#, VB.NET and Delphi.

I first started by working as the web designer and administrator for the weekly newspaper "Gazete Besiktas" in Istanbul. The task of first creating the website was a challenging one, since all the content of the newspaper had to be presented in a friendly and comfortable way to the readers. The HTML design was complemented by some PHP and JavaScript elements.

The website is not under my administration since 2004 and has changed since then.

I worked at the IT department of my university to build the new web site of the university, which was previously a basic html web site. We began by installing the necessary system to support ASP, using Windows operating system, IIS web server and MS SQL Server database. Then we designed the graphic interface, using graphic tools such as Adobe Photoshop, and wrote ASP and HTML code to support features like an announcement system, personal student and personnel pages, searching, etc...

I performed two internships at the IT departments of Siemens and KocSistem, two leader companies in their sector. During these internships, I have worked on networking subjects, mostly focusing on network design and network security issues. I have also participated in the team developing the UNIX-based cashier screens used in shopping stores in Turkey today. I have extended my knowledge about UNIX systems and object oriented programming (especially C++).
